I recently bought a Wii about 4 months ago and I will have to say its pretty cool. Now the graphics are not as hot as the PS3 or the Xbox360, but the wiiremote allows for a more interactive game play in my opinion. For xmas I ended buying myself the Guitar Hero III game by Activision and what can I say, I am addicted. I recently beat easy mode the other day and now I am working my way through medium learning new tricks and to work through the tougher skill level. My wife and I have a heck of a time playing this game together, so for all you married couples out there who like music and competition this is the game for you!
I came across this site recently and was floored, a nine year old is playing the dragon song on expert mode.... check it out!

Sorry for the late response... currently Activision hasnt released any seperately sold guitars for the Wii. From the forums I have read, they are saying early Febuary of late January 2008 for around 59 bucks.
My wife and I are taking turns at the moment, but it will be a lot more fun when we have 2 guitars.
