Yahoo using CF?

A colleague of mine sent me a couple links on Yahoo's site that actually had ".cfm" extensions.   My first thought was, wow.  My second thought was I wonder if they plan on using CF in other areas besides the press room and in job post?

  1. Peter Bell Looks to me line shareholder.com and recruitmax.com are using CF - not Yahoo. Not sure of corporate ownership structures of those two domain names, but they may not be Yahoo! companies . . .

  2. Phillip Duba Recruitmax is a separate company that specializes in HR recruiting so I'm guessing Yahoo! is a customer of theirs. I would imagine shareholder.com is the same type of thing.

  3. Josh Ah... my bad. Good catch guys! I need to learn to read farther down the URL path ;)

Burt Swanson When I talk to people who gripe about Cold Fusion and say it's losing popularity, I just respond by saying that's not true, that Cold Fusion is just becoming more selective.

That gets them too shut up!

  7. Peter Bell Well, I hate to disappoint, but try going to one of those links. Say:
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/airforcesecurityservice/message/hobo_2007.cfm

Then replace the .cfm. Then replace it with .php. Even try a .pdf. All of them turn up the same page. Looks like a regex passing the request to a handler irrespective of file extension.

    Oh well!

  8. Josh Ya looks that way Peter... you can even put aspx, asp, jsp and it all works. Try html as well.

What is odd though is that when I go to Google and type in any of those extentions, the airforce group doesnt pop up.

Anyway, no biggie if Yahoo isnt using CF, it wouldnt be the end of the world ;)

  9. Kyle Hayes Yeah, notice that these are the messageboards and therefore are using SEO URLs for message types. I doubt Yahoo! is using CF.
