Projects

Here are some projects I am working on via my free time.  Most of my Flex/AIR & Coldfusion work is done internal to Boeing and falls into the proprietary arena so I cant show it off. I will add more as time passes on.

Mango Blog Plugins

Mango Blog is an extensible blog engine released under the Apache license, built with ColdFusion by the folks at AsFusion (namely Laura). It provides the core engine to administer and publish entries and the necessary architecture to extend its basic functionality by adding plugins. Mango Blog can be easily customized by the use of exchangeable and completely customizable skins.  I have written a couple simple custom tags and plugins for the mango api.

Works of Art Embroidery:

Works of Art Embroidery, is a small business that specializes in digitizing and providing embroidery work in the mid-west. I will be working with Works of Art Embroidery to design and develop their new website. The site is currently scheduled to launch late summer of 2008 to help support their growing customer base.

FillColors.com Carbon Theme:

AsFusion started a new project called FillColors, "Fill Colors is the embodiment of the separation between style and layout in Flex and a demonstration of what's possible in terms of skinning a Flex application. Fill Colors invites designers to show their Flex "skinning" skills and to learn from others by looking at the current styles in the gallery." You can read more at FillColors.com.

I entered a skin for the contest, which rewards a Flex 2 Builder License :)  I basically reversed engineered the RainBow theme and the Aqua theme to see how the application takes a skin and applies it.  Once I figured that out, I started playing with the carbon theme. I ended up winning the entry and got a free copy of Flex Builder 2!
